These three characters were all members of Melanie's harem. They were certainly not human. The other two were never named although Anita gave them the nicknames above. Not entirely sure what they were though. Do let me know.
Melanie is a lamia which is a type of serpent with a forked tongue and retractable fangs. She has superhuman speed and is believed to be the last of her kind. Until she is introduced it was believed that lamias were extinct.
Mr Oliver is her master and she resents this fact. In order to gain her freedom she allies herself with Alejandro.
She keeps a harem and can perform illusions on men but not on women.
She is immortal and winds up working for Jean-Claude at Circus of the Damned.
Lucas was a zombie raised by Nikolaos and Zachary. He was a witness to a vampire murder but his mind has been broken.
Estelle was a zombie raised by Zachary and Anita.
Andrew was a zombie raised by Anita and Larry in Circus of the Damned. He forgot that he was dead.
Mr Javad is a Naga. He is half man and half snake and is immortal. A full description of the Naga is in the glossary.
Elvira is a witch who is working on a book about shapeshifters. She goes to Animators Inc as a "client" so that she can meet Anita and through her gain an interview with one of the wererats.
Her actual agenda is to gain the power of shapeshifting by skinning were-animals.
She is eventually arrested and confesses.
Magnus Bouvier and Dorcus "Dorrie" Bouvier
Magnus, together with his sister Dorcas are the owners of the Bloody Bones Bar and Grill Restaurant. They are in a land dispute with Beadle, Beadle, Stirling and Lowenstein. Rumour has it that he and his sister are witches.
Magnus is in fact a fairie and has magical powers. Dorrie is likewise but with different powers.
He is interested in Anita.
He is also Serephina's lapdog, she feeds from him and he resents this. Magnus himself feeds off of Rawhead and Bloody Bones.
He dies when Ellie burns to death clinging to him and he burns with her.
Dorcas meanwhile is free to leave the town and start a new life once Bloody Bones is dead.
Anias is one of the zombies raised by Anita and Larry.
Marianne is a witch and is Verne's Vargumor.
She is not Lukoi but she teaches Anita about how to control the Munin.
She is also a firm believer in not taking the lives of others. Anita tries to follow this advice by using her own blood to raise zombies rather than killing chickens. Her work is not as good when she does this but it does inadvertently save her from getting mixed up in more trouble.
Marianne also advises Anita on how to block the marks that she, Richard and Jean-Claude has, so that she cannot be constantly thinking their thoughts etc.
She and Anita become good friends and Anita continues to learn from her.
Anita continues to seek advice from Marianne and in Incubus Dreams she confides that her getting advice from Marianne is the preternatural equivalent of seeing a shrink. Marianne is also a skilled psychic and does tarot readings for Anita that are very accurate. Her reading in Incubus Dreams does not actually come to pass in this book though and it will only be revealed in the future what it was that she saw in the cards.
Howard is a powerful clairvoyant who works for Niley. He has the power to see a person's aura. He is scared of Linus and Anita.
He uses a Ouija Board and used his psychic gift to trace the Lance to the Trolls' land. He in fact lied about the Lance to swindle Niley. He only cheats crooks but things backfire with Niley and he runs away.
He is later jailed for fraud.
Linus is a sorcerer and a eunach working for Niley. He has served time in prison for doing human sacrifices.
It is Linus that is responsible for cutting off Charlotte's finger.
He is killed by his own demon as it feeds off of evil and refused Charlotte and Anita.
Nicandro "Nicky" Baco and Paulina Baco
Nicky is a powerful necromancer who has a weakness for women with power. Something his wife Paulina does not approve of. She is only seen briefly before being murdered later. Paulina was, as far as I could see, human but was really only seen in context with her husband who was not.
When Anita and her party visit him they encounter difficulties with getting past his men and Anita suspects that he was well aware of the problems they were having and does nothing about it.
Nicky is the one who created the monster in Obsidian Butterfly.
He is also the vargamor of the Los Lobos Clan.
He also trapped the souls of people within the Frankenstein-like monster which was made up of parts of different people.
When captured he does not want to cooperate with the police because he knows that what he has done is an automatic death sentence.
He does cooperate with Anita to some extent though - because he is terrified of her.
Leonora is the wife of Dr Evans and a witch. She uses her power to protect Anita when she is brought into the hospital. She knows that the nurses and doctors would not be able to save her if another attack came. She teaches Anita more about the nature of the marks on her and what happened when she distanced herself from Jean-Claude and Richard the way she did.
Tlaloci is a priest who used his powers to suck the essence out of people. He is also the human servant of Obsidian Butterfly and has the power to mesmerise people with his voice in a similar way to that of a vampire. He performs ritual magic on stage at the club of Obsidian Butterfly.
He is also the servant of Red Woman's Husband and uses his power to call the skin from the bodies of the victims. He, like his god, was in a magical sleep before being woken by his god.
Olaf shot him as he came to the rescue of Anita as she fought for her life against the priest and the god.
Monstruo is a monster made of many parts of different people by Nicky and resembles the monster of Frankenstein. The local werewolf pack are threatened by their Ulfric that if they do not behave they too will be stitched into the creature. The souls of those who are punished are trapped in it and Anita can sense and hear their pain.
Alario is Riker's expert on the supernatural. He had done protection spells on Riker's properties but they had failed. It is because of this that Anita was called in. He is a practitioner of the arts and Anita can sense his power. She knows that he can do likewise for her and that he will be able to tell that she won't be able to do what Riker wants her to. He is shot by Anita before he can reveal her secret.
Anita does not sense evil from the Red Woman's Husband but finds power instead in the man responsible for the murders. He believes he is a god but Anita can sense that it is just a glamour and he is merely a man with power.
Each part of the bodies that is taken is for a reason and some of the parts was to feed his dragon or gargoyle.
He and the dragon had been in a magical sleep and were now awake and responsible for the murders between them.
He believes that he is a god who has the right to enact revenge on the Spanish Conquistadors and that is his motive for the murders. He is the remaining power of the Aztecs.
Anita killed him with a hidden blade when she realised that he was just another type of vampire.
Gordon Bennington is the zombie Anita raises with her own blood. He looks like a corpse and confirms for the judge that it was an accident that he died. Had he committed suicide his wife would not have got the insurance money.
Edwin is a zombie raised by Anita without a blood sacrifice. This is the first zombie she raises after she and the others in the triumvirate hit their new power plateau. When raising him she realises that she has the power to raise the entire graveyard. Edwin is also a perfectly formed zombie. She gives him her own blood to give him a voice. But when she taps into Richard's powers she loses control of the zombie to Richard who does not know how to control it. By breaking her connection with Richard Anita is able to gain control of Edwin.
Edwin is an older corpse and Anita refers to him as one of the few old ones who grasps the possibilities of being dead when he learns about the vampires being legal. He asks Anita why he can't stay as he is and offers her money to assist him. Anita shows him that he is tied to his grave and puts him back.
A Vampire Hunter and Federal Marshal from New Orleans. A friend of Anita's she tried to phone him for information about the vampire killers in Incubus Dreams. Unfortunately he was still in intensive care as the vampires had nearly killed him before leaving town.
