"Naked in Death"
      by J.D. Robb (Nora Roberts)

I thought I warn you before you read the book: If you like good mode of expression and nice countryside description you will not like this book. But if you have read "Divine Evil" by N. Roberts and you found it fiendishly good you can also read "Naked in Death" and you will love it too.

Lt. Eve Dallas has been worked since 10 years for the New York police. It is the year 2058 and you can read about a "real" future. Prostitution is legal, guns are banned and you have to pay a lot for real food.  But you still can find crime here. A ruthless killer has murdered a woman who sells her body for sex with  a gunshot. The killer has reported his own crime by himself. He sent the police a video of the murder.

Eve has to solve this case and all information is top secret because the dead person is Sharon DeBlass, the granddaughter of senator DeBlass.

Eves partner Feeney controls Sharons address file and he discover the name Roarke there. Roarke is one of the most rich men in the world and there isn't much about him to know. At the funeral for Sharon Eve and Roarke meet for the first time. Both are fascinated by the other. But Roark is one of Eve's suspects and he also has a big antique gun collection. And Eve takes her work really seriously.

Because the killer left at the first victim a note with the words "One of Six" on it you know there will be 5 more kills if Eve doesn't stop that man.

Actual one week later the next woman is dead.  This time the killer sends the message from his kill direct to Eve and again he left the gun at the place where he did the murder. Because Roark is a suspect in this case Eve meets him. He shows her his gun collection and both spend the night together.

Senator DeBlass is sure that Eve isn't the right person to find the killer of his granddaughter he let her supervise.  The next day she gets in big trouble at her work because she slept with a suspect. Eve is sure Roarke is innocent so she has to prove this.

Then the third woman is killed and the events cross. But Eve is the best in her job. Together with the help from Roarke and her partner Feeney she uncovers the dirty true and unmask the murderer.

J.D. Robb is the pseudonym by Nora Roberts. Under that name she writes a series about a police lieutenant called Eve Dallas and the billionaire Roarke. They live in New York in 2058. Because I am a big Nora Roberts Fan I thought I test her writing style as J.D. Robb and now I can't wait to find out what will happen to Eve and Roarke in the other books in this series.
