After a nightmare childhood Melissa forces all emotions from her life and focus's only on her goal. She is proud of her lack of fear in the face of adversity, but never stops to realise that her greatest barrier is that same fear stopping her from opening her heart to anyone.
Floating within the stars and knowing that she has achieved her dream Melissa is not prepared when disaster strikes her mission. Disaster in the form of a meteorite shower that sends her plummeting back to Earth without the safety of the confines of a space ship. Screaming at the injustice she falls to Earth and into the year 1887.
Rory McCullough was a man who had devoted the past ten years to caring for the orphaned and homeless children that had made their way into his care. He was assisted in this task by Shelan, a witch of great powers who in return for his generosity grants him that which is heart desires the most - a wife.
When Shelan leaves him alone in a fairy circle he knows that he will not see her again. He had not wanted to believe in her powers but after witnessing her transformation from an old women to a young beauty he has no choice but to admit that there are powers beyond his imagination.
Rory believes in the magic and when he pulls Melissa from the icy waters of the mountain lake he knows almost at once that she is the wife Shelan has sent to him.
In a strange place and with a strange man Melissa awakens to find that she has damaged her vocal cords and lost her memory. The only things left are her instincts and fragments of the past that pass through her mind to swiftly for her to grasp them.
Rory takes on Melissa as his responsibility without hesitation and together they make their way down the mountain to his home. Thrown together on their journey Rory is drawn to Melissa as to no other woman. She would face off a cougar without a trace of fear; when he was injured she knew how to survive on her own. No woman he knew would do these things - and with this knowledge came the hope that Melissa could be the woman who would be willing to spend her life with him.
Melissa soon begins to notice that things are not as they should be and gradually her memory returns and she realises that she has somehow crossed the time barrier. But when her memory returns completely she must face her greatest challenge. The challenge of continuing to give her love to others, with the knowledge of her past intact. For only when she has fought off all of her demons can she and Rory build a life together.
A wonderful time travel romance that begins in the Heavens above and takes you to Heaven on Earth at the dramatic climax.
