When Lightning Strikes by Kristin Hannah is the most unusual time travel
romance I have ever read. This is because not only is the heroine
catapulted into the Wild West she is now a part of her own novel.
Alaina Costanza is a romance writer who has given up on romantic dreams.
So when she finds herself a part of her own novel it is something of a
shock to find herself falling for the villain of the piece.
Killian is a man with secrets in his past, secrets that are somehow connected to Alaina as she finds herself only able to get home when lightning strikes in the same place as she is twice.
Travelling
across the harsh countryside of the Old West Alaina at first relies on
her sharp tongue and her knowledge of the plot to keep Killian at a distance.
After all she invented him, she therefore should be able to control him.
What she can't control are her own feelings for him.
But Alaina knows that she cannot remain in the past with Killian for her young daughter is waiting in the 20th century for her mother to return.
With some unexpected twists to the plot this story is as unusual as it is unputdownable.
