Wedding
Spell by Donna Fletcher is the part of the Magical Love series and is also
the start of a series about modern day witches that leaves the reader waiting
with baited breath for more.
Alisande Wyrrd is a modern witch who is in danger of losing her powers. The source of her powers is love and after spending 300 years alone her powers are dwindling away and her spells are growing weaker. Only love can restore her powers and Alisande is determined that she will settle for nothing less.
Despite the advice of others she does not want a powerful male witch and instead sets her sights on a mortal. While leafing through a magazine she comes across an article about Sebastian Wainwright, CEO of Wainwright Security and decides that he could be the powerful mortal that will restore her powers.
Alisande has no time to lose and quickly makes her move by using what little of her powers remain to bypass Sebastian's own security and meet him face to face.
When facing him Alisande knows that she will settle for nothing less than Magical Love and impulsively casts her spell on the unsuspecting and completely bewildered Sebastian….a man who is not only mortal but also a mortal who does not believe in witches or magic.
After Alisande departs from his office she leaves Sebastian to wonder about her appearance and her words. While he does not believe in magic Sebastian finds that there are more pressing questions to be answered such as how anyone could have got through his security, let alone vanished into thin air on the cameras. Wasting no time he begins to delve into Alisande’s past determined to find out everything about her, but his quest only brings him more questions. He cannot believe that she is over 300 years old but then why can he not find any records on her to prove her age. And if she is insane, it must run in the family as her Aunt Sydney clearly thinks there is nothing wrong with Alisande claiming she is a witch, far from it....she claims she is one too.
Meanwhile Alisande proceeds to bombard Sebastian with the magical seduction of dreams that somehow become reality and the small spells that she is still able to perform. Enlisting the help of her Aunt Sydney and Beatrice the forest fairy Alisande lays siege to Sebastian’s heart in the battle of wills that she cannot afford to lose. For when Alisande cast the Magical Love spell she put more on the line than she ever has before – and if the spell should not be fulfilled she stands to lose everything.
The deeper the mystery becomes the more Sebastian begins to question his own beliefs and open his mind and heart to the possibility of witchcraft and magic. But even he does not suspect the lengths he will have to go to if he is to have a future with the seductive witch who has turned his life upside down.
With a charming cast of characters and an intriguing
plot this enchanting and amusing this novel opens the door to a fictional
world of witches. Wedding Spell is a wonderful start to a promising
series that continues with Magical Moments.
