Wererats

Rafael is the King of the wererat population in the city. His clan is known as the Dark Crown Clan. He forbids the rats to hunt for Nikolaos.
He forms an alliance with Richard and through him the werewolves. When he is captured by Padma and his back is skinned it is Anita who rescues him and he owes her a debt.
His loyalty is tested when Richard is at odds with the pack and Anita is in need of his alliance. Through Rafael the wererats make it clear to the werewolves that they will stand with Anita and will only retain their truce with the wolves whilst Richard is Ulfric.
After this stand of loyalty we begin to see more of the wererats as they back up Anita when needed and, in some cases, put down their lives for her.
Personally Rafael has an ex-wife and son who left him because she could not handle what he was and they moved as far away from the city as possible.
Louie is one of Rafael's lieutenants. He is also one of Richard's best friends and is dating Anita's best friend Ronnie. He is a doctor who teaches biology at Washington University.
However his relationship with Anita is not so good and as the series progresses she realises that their friendship is strained and he no longer likes her.
Although he had not been around for a while we finally catch up with Louie in Incubus Dreams when Ronnie and Louie are seen fighting by Anita. Louie confides in Anita that he had proposed to Ronnie and she had turned him down. Louie and Ronnie's relationship reaches breaking point when she is not prepared to either marry him or move in together. Whether they can pick up the pieces is something that remains to be seen.
Lillian is one of the wererats who crops up throughout the books. She is a doctor for all of the were-animals and her services are often required, particularly when shapeshifters are injured and the normal medical services are not an option. Many of the shapeshifters are reluctant to reveal what they are to the community at large because of the prejudices against them.
As one of the few doctors in the shapeshifter community Lillian travels with a bodyguard when she is out on call for the were-animals in town.
After she comes to patch up everyone at Anita's house after Damian goes crazy she reveals to Anita that the wererats are constantly being amazed at all that Anita handles.
Fernando is a wererat whose father is the Council member Padma. He is guarded by the leopards. He abuses Hannah until Willie forces the Traveler out of his body.
A rapist who attacked both Sylvie and Vivian he also wants to attack Anita who describes him as "too stupid to survive". He is disliked by just about everyone and his own father betrays him to Anita.
He and Liv are given to Sylvie for pack justice and are killed.
Bobby Lee is one of the wererats who comes to Anita as backup. He takes charge of the other wererats who are backing her up and is a strong ally.
Claudia is a wererat who from a distance can be seen as a harmless woman but close up you can tell how dangerous she is.
Claudia acts as Enforcer to Anita when she goes in rescue of Gregory with her. She is badly injured by Marco and the snakemen.
However she makes a full recovery to help catch the men who are tailing Anita in Cerulean Sins. She also does not hold a grudge against Anita for putting her in the danger in the first place.
Like Claudia, Igor acts as Enforcer with Anita in the rescue of Gregory. However when they come up against the snakemen and Marco Igor comes out badly and does not live. He literally lays down his life for Anita in part payment of the debt all the wererats owe to her.
Cris is one of the wererat bodyguards for Anita at the Circus of the Damned.
He was shot in the ambush at Narcissus in Chains.
Fredo is one of the wererats who helps to trap the two men tailing Anita. Anita makes a point of learning his name since he could die helping her out.
Fredo is a bodyguard of Dr Lillian when she comes to Anita's house to help patch everyone up after Damian goes crazy.
Lisandro is a new wererat who is a new member of security at Guilty Pleasures. He carries a gun and Anita orders him to keep an eye on Primo once he is trapped in the coffin.
A wererat who comes to the rescue when Richard loses his temper at the Circus. He comments that Richard's problem smells more like jealousy than pack business.
