The Vampires
Text in this colour denotes that it is a spoiler for Incubus Dreams
of The Girl Who Was Infatuated With Death.
Willie is the first vampire we are introduced to in this series. A small time hood when he was alive he has only recently become a vampire is the only vampire Anita knew when he was still alive. He works as an errand runner for Jean-Claude and is a servant of Nikolaos. He also becomes the manager of The Laughing Corpse.
On a more personal note we find that he has (according to Anita) no taste in clothes and has fuzzy dice hanging in his coffin.
Anita would fight to protect him or avenge him and although he has only been dead a few years he is prepared to fight The Traveler to protect Hannah.
Anita can call him like she can a zombie and this does scare him.
Aubrey is a vampire entertainer at Guilty Pleasures. He is under 500 years old and is not a master vampire. His master is Nikolaos. However not being a master does not stop him having the power to put Catherine Maison under a spell.
After being trapped in a coffin for three months by Nikolaos he went crazy and was killed by Anita after he had attacked Phillip with a shotgun.
Buzz is a friend of Monica Vespucci and is a new vampire. He works as a doorman at Guilty Pleasures.
In Incubus Dreams he confides in Anita (who does not really like him much) that he is having problems with Primo, and that Jean-Claude will not step in. He feels that he is being set up for a showdown and he knows that he will not win if he should go up against Primo as the older vampire is far more powerful than he is. He agrees with Primo's point of view in that he is not being utilised as well as he could be by Jean-Claude.
Buzz does not like that Anita makes a call about security issues without consulting him when she orders Lisandro to guard Primo.
Robert is a vampire who was made by Jean-Claude just over a hundred years ago. He is one of the vampire entertainers at Guilty Pleasures. He is married to Monica and is one of Anita's least favourite vampires, particularly since Phillip was killed. Robert was murdered himself later in the series.
Yasmeen is a Master Vampire at Circus of the Damned and is older than Jean-Claude is. However he may beat her age as she was killed by Alejandro.
Alejandro is a Master Vampire who marked Anita as his own. He gave her the final mark in his last battle but was defeated when Anita removed his heart with her bare hands. His master is Mr Oliver.
Nikolaos is a Master Vampire and the master of Aubrey and Theresa. She is the Master of the City at the start of the series.
She has the power to fly and the rats are her animal to call. As such she can also call the were-rats to do her bidding.
She was only 12 or 13 years old when she died but that was over 1000 years ago.
She met her match in Anita who killed her.
Mr Oliver is a Master Vampire and was ancient. He can almost pass for human. He claims to be the oldest living vampire. Anita believes him to be about 1 million years old because of the Homo Eretus skull likeness in the face.
He wants to be Master of the City and to turn things back to the old ways before the vampires were made legal.
He is a member of the Council of Vampires and on agreement with them has limited his powers.
He has the power to draw blood from a distance. He also has the power to levitate and cause earthquakes.
His creatures to call is snakes and this is something that he regrets.
Anita actually betrays Jean-Claude to him after being given the third mark.
Anita killed him with a stake and removal of his head. It is actions like this that bring her to the attention of the Council.
Theresa is a female vampire aged around 100-150 years old.
Her master is Nikolaos and she at one time pretends to be her.
She was murdered but hardly a victim being evil herself.
Valentine is a vampire who scarred Anita. He had a southern US accent. His face was scarred from where Anita had thrown holy water at him. He was killed by Anita and Edward using syringes of silver nitrate.
Gretchen is a vampire who was made by Jean-Claude. She was previously called Gretel.
She wants Jean-Claude and is jealous of Anita.
To protect Anita and punish Gretchen Jean-Claude shuts her into a coffin. He says it will be for a month or two. However three years later it becomes known to Anita that Gretchen is still in the coffin. She is released on Anita's demand and she is shocked to find that Jean-Claude has been feeding on her energy during her captivity.
Jean-Claude has the power to take away her eternal life forever.
Dead Dave was a police officer in life. Unfortunately when he came back to life as a vampire he was kicked off of the Force. He is angry about this but tries to help them in his own way by helping Anita with cases when she comes to him for help.
He now owns a bar in the Vampire District.
Andy is the vampire boyfriend of Ellie Quinlan and brought her over. He was possibly killed by Anita without her knowing who he was at the time.
Xavier is a vampire in Branson, Missouri. He is a vampire who preys on children and he has blood red eyes. He is under Serephina. Silver or lead bullets cannot harm him.
He was responsible for tampering with Magnus's spell.
He was burnt in a fire.
Serephina is a vampire who can actually stop Anita from estimating her age. She is estimated to be about 600 years, older than Jean-Claude. She was an old woman when she died. She is Master of the City in Branson and lives in an isolated house.
She is described as less powerful than Janos and is not sadistic. However she has the terrifying ability to capture Anita within her illusions and to almost make her believe that she is her mother returned from the grave.
She has the ability to call ghosts.
After the initial confrontation between Anita's party and Serephina, she lets Anita and the others leave. Anita knows that she has not beaten her and that had they remained there they could have all been killed.
She wants Bloody Bones so that she can drink the blood of an immortal and believes that that will make her immortal.
She is burnt in a fire.
Ivy is a vampire who has not quite reached her full power yet. She will be a master vampire under Serephina in Branson.
She opens the door to Jean-Claude and others and engages in parlour tricks with Jean-Claude. She had previously heard of him and wanted him. He rejects her with a display of power.
The truce between Jean-Claude and Serephina was broken when Ivy was baited by Anita. Something that infuriates Serephina who had wanted to "play" with Anita and the others indefinitely. She lost the battle of wills and later lost her life at the hands of Anita. This closes the circle of power at the graves.
Malcolm is the head of the Church of Eternal Life. He has been described as the undead Billy Graham. He is a Master Vampire but he is not as powerful as Jean-Claude.
After a long absence Malcolm is reintroduced in Incubus Dreams. He causes concerns for Anita when she discovers that he is not using blood oaths to bind the vampires in his community to him. He has dispensed with the practice because he sees it as barbaric. He also does not teach his vampires how to feed properly and as such his new vampires are dangerous as they don't know how to control their hunger.
Malcolm has banned all his church members from going to places like strip clubs. He believes that his vampires must be "absolutely above reproach". He sees Jean-Claude and his vampires as perverts. The other vampires call the members of the church the "Nightshift Mormons". However not all of them comply with his rules and it is when Anita comes across a group of them being held as suspects at a crime scene that she starts to see the problems with Malcolm and his people.
Malcolm has an agreement with Jean-Claude that he will tell him if any of the church members are seen in Jean-Claude's clubs.
Although it is against the teachings of the church Malcolm is not above using vampire powers to make himself appear more attractive.
Although the members of the church all have a mentor who recruits them it is Malcolm who actually brings them over. He has made hundreds of vampires.
When he tries to use his vampire powers on Anita to find out what she knows it does not work as he planned and instead Anita finds she has the power to look into the faces of his vampires and see their memories, at least for a limited period of time.
In The Girl Who Was Infatuated With Death we also find that Malcolm is prepared to make sure his vampires stay within the human laws too and will hand over any that break the law.
Bruce is a recruiter for the Church of Eternal Life. As far as I can tell he is not the same vampire Bruce below. If I am wrong let me know.
Well it is definite that he is not the same vampire as the one listed below. Since this particular Bruce is alive and well in Incubus Dreams when Anita and the police go to the church to make enquiries. Bruce is an usher in the church and is the one who goes to speak with Malcolm and let him know that they wish to speak to him.
Bruce is one of Serephina's vampires. He is newly dead and still has a tan. He was about 18 at the time of his death.
He is the boyfriend of Ivy and was probably brought over by her.
He was killed when Larry shot him.
Janos is a powerful and sadistic vampire who is older that Jean-Claude and does the bidding of Serephina. However in spite of this he is actually more powerful than her.
He can defeat Jean-Claude when one to one. He is hard to kill as he has the rare ability of being able to rot and reform again. Only fire can kill him. Naturally he was therefore killed in a fire.
Kissa is one of the vampires of Serephina. She knows Jean-Claude and has been promised to him by Serephina.
Serephina does not trust her.
Her fate is unknown. There is no indication that she was in Bloody Bones when it was torched or that she died prior to that event. If you know what happened to her let me know.
These are two female vampires who can only be killed by fire. They are over 500 years old which makes them older than Jean-Claude.
They are first believed killed by Anita and Jason. However they survived only to finally die in a gas fire.
Sabin is a British vampire who dresses like Vincent Price's vampires. He is introduced to Anita by Jean-Claude.
He is half-rotted from drinking animal blood and cold blood at the request of his love, Cassandra. He no longer has any feet and has to float everywhere. He is very powerful but he can't control it.
He is shot by Anita and killed by decapitation.
Liv is a Slavic female vampire at Danse Macabre. She is 600 years old but not a master vampire. She is planning on sleeping her way to the top of the vampire hierarchy and Jean-Claude is on her "to do list".
She was ordered to act as a bodyguard for Anita or be given to Sabin.
She later changes allegiance to The Traveler. However she later sees another side to the Council which scares her.
She is responsible for torturing Sylvie and is later given to her for justice. By pack justice she is killed.
Hannah is a relatively young vampire, just a century old. She is described as "tall, leggy and lovely". She is also the girlfriend of Willie McCoy.
Hannah is revealed to be the Manager of Danse Macabre in Incubus Dreams.
Warrick is an old vampire and was a knight in the Crusades. He is about 900 years old.
He is a vampire under Yvette and Yvette's master was dampening his powers. When this stops Warrick becomes a Master Vampire in a matter of hours. He also has the power to call "the fire of God". He is responsible for the arson attacks in Burnt Offerings.
Warrick is the only vampire to ever not die with the dawn. So being awake, unlike the rest of them, he went outside where Yvette caused him to start rotting.
When is powers begin to grow butterflies flock to him. He believes that they are his animal to call. Anita is not particularly impressed with that animal but Warrick is very pleased.
As his powers return he believes that he is returning to God.
He dies while killing Yvette and burns with her.
Yvette is not a master vampire although she around 1000 years old. She cannot therefore have human servants. She is an envoy of the Council.
She is a necrophiliac and loves the dead, zombies etc. She can also make herself, and others, rot. She is particularly cruel in that she chooses Jason to torment with this power as he has met other vampires that can do this and is terrified of them.
Yvette's Master is Morte d'Armour. She is under his orders to destroy Anita and Jean-Claude. She plans for Asher to kill Jean-Claude while he is weak and become Master of the City. Asher unfortunately for her refuses and puts paid to her plan to control the vampires of the city and create a bloodbath.
She also planned for Warrick to start fires. However he refused to kill anyone with his powers. He did make an exception for her however and both she and Warrick died when he set her on fire.
Padma is a powerful vampire and a member of the Council. He is not as powerful as The Traveler however and is in fear of that particular vampire.
He is from India and his power is like that of a lycanthropes. He cannot draw warmth from a human servant like Jean-Claude can, he must draw blood.
He has the power to call all the animals but is the weakest member of the Council.
He was responsible for skinning Rafael.
He would sacrifice his son so save his own life.
The Traveler has the unique ability to be able to travel from body to body. Hence the name. In the past he has been in Jean-Claude.
He is the master of Balthasar and shares power with Liv. He is also a Council member.
When Anita meets him he is in the body of Willie. He moves back and forth between Willie and his girlfriend Hannah.
At the request of Anita he takes over the body of a vampire in the safe house to help humans.
He takes strength from other vampires. He is surprised that Jean-Claude can prevent him from taking strength from his vampires. He therefore takes strength from others such as Malcolms.
Harry was an old vampire who was made pre 1600s. He is one of Yvette's line.
He is part owner of Burnt Offerings Bar and Restaurant and a bartender. The business is described as a family oriented tourist trap. Anita likes the place but Jean-Claude does not. Anita believes he is either sorry he had not thought of it first or he is embarrassed by it. The place has lots of famous vampire film memorabilia there and Scary Karaoke.
Harry is a vampire who actually views them as monsters although he does enjoy the new legality of the vampires.
He had taken a cut of the money to betray the vampires to Humans First. He let his own place get hit in the arson attacks to avoid suspicion.
Giles is the Guardian Vampire at the safe house. It is his job to control the new vampires.
Colin is the Master of the City of Myerton, Tennessee. He fears the combined power of Jean-Claude, Richard and Anita.
He refuses Jean-Claude and Anita permission to go to Richard.
He is a night hag or Mora and feeds on fear. He fed on Nathaniel's fear when he was snatched.
He has no animal to call.
It is Colin who lets Niley know that Anita is still in town.
He dies when his human servant dies.
Archie is one of Colin's vampires. He is shot by Anita when the truce is broken.
Barnaby is a black-eyed vampire of Colin. He can rot himself at will.
He made a large number of other vampires and so therefore many of Colin's vampires have inherited the power to rot.
He and Colin share the territory because they both know that they are not strong enough to hold the land alone.
Donald is one of Colin's vampires. He helped to hunt down Anita when she did not leave town. He did not know that Daniel and Charlotte had been taken.
He was shot in the head by Anita and killed.
Also known as Itzpapalotl she is an Aztec "goddess" made vampire and Master of the City of Albuquerque.
She is the owner of the club which is named Obsidian Butterfly after herself and she has were-jaguars there.
She is feared by the Council who have declared her city off limits as every vampire and minion who has entered it in recent years has died.
She made vampires of the Spaniards who conquered her land and raped the priestesses and is punishing them for as long as they survive. She sees this as justice. She also made the dying girls into "gods" as she sees herself so that they can have their own revenge.
However Anita comes out of things alive with the help of this vampire although she does keep some information from her.
Diego is a 500 year old vampire of Obsidian Butterfly. It is to him that she orders the were-jaguars to make sacrifice. Anita watches as he refuses because, as he describes, he is not "a lover of men". It appears that he has been refusing to do what his master asks for centuries.
It appears that this a personal vendetta against him because he and others were in fact conquerors who took all the spoils of war from the women of the land and now they are being punished in return.
Like Diego, Cristobal is a Spanish vampire who was made as punishment for his crimes against the people of the land he was conquering. Obsidian Butterfly keeps him on a leash with a choker chain.
This is the vampire of Obsidian Butterfly who is prepared to accept the sacrifice of Seth in place of Diego who refuses.
Cruz is a Hispanic vampire of Obsidian Butterfly. He is the vampire who lead Professor Dallas away after the initial scenes at the club.
Musette is a powerful vampire who arrives ahead of schedule in the city. She is the vessel of Belle Morte and Belle can speak and act through her. To harm her is to harm Belle Morte herself.
Musette's animals to call are bats and rats.
Musette is a dangerous vampire to have in town and vampire politics play a big part in her visit.
It is Musette who breaks the truce that they are all under when she fails to reveal to the two child vampires who are with her that Stephen and Gregory had been abused as children. When the children are torturing the twins without knowing of their history they agree that Musette has broken the truce.
Belle Morte is at the head of the line and is the vampire who made Asher.
The leopards and other cats are her creatures to call.
She can speak through Musette and at times can appear to take over her body completely. When she takes over Musette she can call and control the wereleopards.
She considers every vampire of her line is her property, as are their human servants and animals. She does not come to the city in person but makes her presence felt nonetheless.
Knowing that Anita has not been marked for the fourth time by Jean-Claude she sets out to mark her as her own and Anita has to battle to keep out of Belle Morte's clutches.
Meng Die is a Master Vampire and her animal to call is the wolf. However Anita finds her unfriendly and does not appear to trust her. She is one of Jean-Claude's vampires.
Meng Die would appear to be in some form of relationship with werewolf Graham but she won't let him sleep (actual sleep) with her when he is in wolf form.
Anita describes Faust as cheerfully attractive, like the boy next door. He is a Master Vampire but is not strong enough to become a Master of the City. Or she believes that if he did he would be too weak to keep the City and would die soon if he were ever to try. He is instead one of Jean-Claude's vampires.
Valentina is a child vampire who was made when she was eight years old by Sebastian.
Sebastian was destroyed and Valentina was taken in by Belle Morte.
Valentina does like torture and arrives in the city with Musette. However there are lines that even she will not cross and when Musette neglects to tell her and Bartolemé about Gregory and Stephen and their past both she and Bartolemé insist on being allowed to remain in the city until they have satisfied their debt of honour. She herself had been abused as a child and made into a vampire for that very purpose.
Bartolemé is the second of the child vampires who arrives with Musette, the first being Valentina.
Bartolemé had been the promiscuous child heir to a great fortune which Belle Morte wanted to control. Musette had been the one to ensnare him but they had not meant to turn him into a vampire. When he had been thrown from his horse in an accident Belle Morte had not wanted to wait for his very young brother to grow up and had insisted that Musette make him a vampire rather than let him die and so lose the fortune.
Like Valentina he insists on staying behind to repay their debt of honour after finding out that Gregory and Stephen, who they had been torturing, had been abused as children.
Mother Gentle aka The Mother of All Darkness aka The Sweet Dark
Mysterious and dangerous Anita also calls her "Mommy Dearest".
She has been sleeping for eons and is starting to stir.
She appears to be both vampire and shapeshifter.
I get the feeling that we will be seeing more of her in the future and that she will eventually waken completely.
Paolo is one of the vampires of Musette's party. He is not very popular with the hosts but plays little part in the actual novel. We hear about him rather than see him interact with everyone.
Perrin is a vampire who Damian knew when he was with his last master Moroven. A big man he had sometimes been mistaken for a giant. He had been put into the light by their master and had not burnt immediately. Instead he had smoked and burnt slowly in the sunlight.
Moroven / Morvoren (aka Nemhain)
This name seemed to change spelling in the latest book - not sure whether the second spelling was my mistake or if it actually changed. If anyone knows before I check back myself let me know. Whichever the spelling this is the vampire who made Damian. She is also known as Nemhain and feeds on fear. She killed Perrin, something Anita witnesses though Damian's memories. By speaking the name Nemhain Damian conjures her power (fear) and brings it down upon himself, Anita and Nathaniel. A formidable enemy from afar they can only hope she never appears in the flesh.
Primo is a very old vampire who would like to be Jean-Claude's second in command. When alive he had been in the Roman army and condemned for murder. He had killed many in the arena before a noblewoman known as the Dragon took him out of the arena and made him a vampire.
Now he works as security at Guilty Pleasures and is not happy about it. His direct boss is Buzz. Unlike the rest of the security Primo takes money and lets single men into the club, knowing they will cause trouble and then kicks them out again. Buzz describes Primo as "dripping with power" and more likely to start fights than stop them. Primo is a vampire who is not satisfied to be a lackey for any other vampire and would like to take Jean-Claude's place as Master of the City.
Anita comes up against him in the club when he starts a fight with some of the men he has let in. Anita uses her new powers against him and makes him bleed but is not sure how she does it. When Anita and Jean-Claude stand against him together with Richard's power they manage to defeat him long enough to have him restrained in a coffin with silver chains and a holy item on it.
Byron is a British vampire less than three hundred years old, who points out to Anita that he is not "that Byron". He is a stripper at Guilty Pleasures and is the one who is heckled by the men that Primo let into the club. Anita knows that Byron is not powerful and never will be. He manages to approach Anita without her hearing him and nearly manages to roll her with his eyes after the battle with Primo. Anita is not happy with herself that he has managed to do this and refers to him as one of the weakest of the new vampires in town.
When Byron takes Anita into the backstage area to tend to her he confirms to her that Jean-Claude has been holding back when feeding the ardeur. He also points out to Anita that it would appear that they have all hit a new power plateau.
Byron hints that he was once interested in Jean-Claude but that other than Asher he had always preferred women.
When Jean-Claude starts to lose control of Primo it is Byron who is with Anita and who she uses first to feed the ardeur.
Another vampire that we do not meet in person. The Dragon is the noblewoman who made Primo in ancient Rome. She is still in existence in Incubus Dreams when he uses Primo as a conduit for her own power.
Her power is that she can feed on the essence of the dead and make the undead actually dead.
She gives permission for Primo to remain in St Louis.
Another new British vampire, Requiem has black hair and blue eyes and had once been covetted by Belle Morte. His master at the time had refused to give Requiem to her and they had fled France. Requiem admits to Anita and Byron that he had felt pleasure at her court but it was not worth the price. Also the fact that he did not like men meant that he would not have survived there.
Jean-Claude had offered him a home when his old master (Dracula) had "got himself executed". Requiem is Jean-Claude's third in command after Asher.
Jean-Claude sends Requiem to the rescue when Anita is feeding the ardeur from Byron. Requiem takes blood from her so that she can feed from both of them at the same time.
Anita also feeds from Requiem to save Damian, whose energy she has drained.
Requiem is sent, together with werewolf Graham, to guard Anita whilst she works after the battle with Primo. Anita says that Requiem is a master vampire and she says that he is poetic but depressing.
Dracula is already dead by the time of Incubus Dreams but we learn quite a bit about him so I am including him in the lists.
Dracula was the Master of the City of London. He was not the real Dracula who had been assassinated but the name was up for grabs after that. Only one person can hold a name per country and only one person per time can hold the most well-known names. Britain was the only other country where vampires were legal, although not for as long as in America.
He was the master of Byron and Requiem until he went mad and started slaughtering humans. He didn't accept the modern world well and he was executed by the vampire council who hushed everything up.
Now no one can hold the name Dracula since both of them had now broken the council laws and had to be killed. Anita comments that vampires can be as superstitious as the next bunch.
No idea if he is a vampire or not but he is security at Guilty Pleasures who kicks out Stephen and Gregory's father Anthony when he tries to see Gregory. He may be a shapeshifter but since I don't know for sure I am putting him in with the vampires as he is obviously connected with them through the club and there is no definite connection with the shapeshifters.

A vampire suspect at the Sapphire club he is in a state of shock when Anita first sees him and thinks that she has been brought in to kill them. He is a member of the Church of Eternal Life and it was his first time going to one of the clubs with them. Apart from the unnamed Baldie he is the only vampire to give Anita the most useful information about the vampires in the Church who go to the clubs.
A member of the Church of Eternal Life and is one of Malcolm's deacons. He is also a suspect at the Sapphire Club, a place where the members of the church are not allowed to go to.
This vampire was never apparently named but was the first of the suspects to speak with Anita at the Sapphire club. Baldie is what she called him. It is him who gives her information about who they are and what they were doing there, and more importantly about how the Church of Eternal Life recruits its members and introduces them to the vampire world. He thought that being a vampire would be sexy but he is still a law clerk but now he just works in another office on the night shift. He is a member of the Sapphire Club and very disillusioned about the whole being a vampire business.
A vampire whose name was given to Anita to check out by Baldie and Roger Clarke. Anita and Zerbrowski turn up on his doorstep just after sundown to question him. As a human he had had a criminal record for minor incidents, usually involving drink. Now he can't drink and instead smokes, he is addicted to being an addict. He had been recruited for the church by Charles Moffat. He has two ex-wives and a young son who he can't see because of a court order.
Anita refers to him as a pitiful vampire and could not have pulled off the murders. It is through him that Anita realises that the church is recruiting people by claiming that it will fix their lives and then not teaching them how to be vampires. He is not being trained to be a predator like the other vampire communities are.
Avery is the vampire owner of the apartment where one of the murder victims was found. Anita finds him and calls him to her at the Church of Eternal Life. Anita senses sadness from him and straight away begins to doubt that he is one of the killers even though she has a warrant of execution for him. Anita uses Malcolm's power to find out what happened at Avery's apartment.
Like a number of the other members of the church Avery attends at the local strip clubs where he met Nellie. He had left Sally Cook (aka Morgana) alive with Nellie and Nadine.
One of the vampires at Avery's apartment on the night that Sally Cook was killed. Nadine looks enough like her to be her twin. She was not a local vampire and had met Avery at one of the strip clubs. Possibly one of the vampires killed in the condo but not known for sure.

A vampire who Avery reveals had joined Nellie and her master. He is in the church when Avery gives his information to Anita and he tries to make a run for it. He is stopped by Truth and Wicked (aka the Wicked Truth). However he stabs Truth with a silver knife before he is finally captured.
When Anita goes to question him she realises that she knows who he is and that he was a vampire hunter like herself. She had been interviewed about his death. Only now does she realise that he was not only not killed by the vampires but that he had sold six police officers to the vampires he was hunting in return for their making him one of them.
Once Anita has determined that he is one of the vampire killers she gets enough information out of him through Malcolm's powers to try to track the others. She then executes him in front of the church.
Truth and Wicked aka The Wicked Truth
Truth and Wicked are two vampire brothers who first appear in Malcolm's Church. They assist in stopping Jonah Cooper from getting away but not before Truth is stabbed with a silver blade.
Truth and Wicked have no masters and cannot gain power from their master and as such Truth cannot gain power from that source to heal the wound caused by the silver blade.
The dark-haired Truth and Blond Wicked are masterless because their master died and as did the sourdre de sang that created their line. They survived the destruction and are feared because of this. Malcolm took them into his church and points out to Anita that most masters would have killed them.
Jean-Claude has heard of the brothers and reveals that they are the only vampires in history to have purposefully hunted down their link and murdered them. He says that they are to battle what Belle Morte is to sex. He tells Anita that the source of their line went mad and the rest of their line started to slaughter people without reason. The Council had planned to send assassins but Truth and Wicked in the line had taken matters into their own hands.
Unfortunately for the brothers it is a death sentence to kill the source of their line. However they were merely banished after some on the Council (including Belle Morte) interceded.
Jean-Claude says they are men of honour and agrees for Anita to bind them to him in the same way that she did Primo. Jean-Claude being somewhere else at the time and unable to blood oath them directly himself.
Interestingly Truth seems very fearful when the ardeur rises in Anita and he senses the power of Belle Morte and calls out for the Mother of Darkness to save him. He agrees with Anita that Jean-Claude should help stop the ardeur that night. Since Belle Morte was one to speak for them and save their lives this is a mystery yet to be explained.
Anita blood oaths Truth but is unable to blood oath Wicked at the same time due to other events and promises that she will blood oath him in exactly the same, something he insists on.
The master vampire who is the leader of the vampire killers.
Gwenyth refers to the fact that he had been attacked with holy water and that it had affected his mind as well as his body. She calls him a monster.
He is still at large at the end of Incubus Dreams and we are surely going to see him again.
A vampire who was a part of Vittorio's gang of killers. It is through her efforts that the bodies are found more quickly and she writes to Jean-Claude telling him of what she has done and explaining that she has left Vittorio who is now mad. She knows that he will not forgive the betrayal and that he will hunt down her and Myron and does not expect to survive the year.
A lawyer who had just made partner in her firm. She had been missing from work for several days and it is her condo that is used for the trap for the police. She is now a vampire. Although it is not certain it is likely she was one of the vampires in the condo and was killed.
A young vampire who was with Vittorio. He is the vampire that Gwenyth fled with. He had helped her with her efforts to help the police and had left the police officer alive so that he could tell what had happened. Myron was also spying in the Church of Eternal Life.
The vampire who Amy has gone to to make her one. Anita knows that he is newly dead by the fact he has a last name.
