The Beginning
No picture here I am afraid. This is because The Beginning by Sherrilyn Kenyon is a short story available to read on her website. Hence I had no cover to scan :-) I believe it is also available in paperback from her site however if you want to read the paper version.
The Beginning is, in a way, exactly what it sounds like. However it is not completely the beginning as you find that this short story about Acheron (Ash) starts when he is already a Dark-Hunter. However up until this point he has been the only one of his kind.
However things are about to change and Artemis is about to create the first of the Dark-Hunters in a bid to bind Ash to her.
A simple story it shows the devious nature of the goddess who created the Dark-Hunters and how Ash finds himself leader and trainer of the Dark-Hunters.
The story also introduces the Simi, Acheron's companion, a rather endearing, if dangerous demon who is bound to him in a way we do not yet know.
For those who want to know more about Ash and cannot wait for his own novel (I understand from Sherrilyn's website that he will actually have two full novels) this is an interesting taster and well worth the read.
My only complaint - it is too
short a short story.
