Three Wise Ghosts by Lynn Kurland introduces three delightful spooks who have decided to spend their afterlife matchmaking.
Ambrose MacLeod, Hugh McKinnon and Fulbert de Piaget have set their sights on Megan MacLeod McKinnon and Gideon de Piaget and the setting for the romance is The Boar's Head, run by the increasingly hysterical Mrs Pruitt, a woman who has no liking for working in a haunted inn.
Gideon is the second son of the Earl of Artane and a workaholic who has been ordered on holiday by his brother with the ultimatum that if he doesn't take a holiday he'll be fired.
Megan is a woman who has bounced around from job to job getting fired on a very frequent basis and has travelled to England to take photos and report back on a castle her brother had decided to purchase on a whim.
Their first meeting is not what you would call successful since Gideon drenches Megan with his car. Even worse, Megan had at this point already lost her luggage.
But as unlikely as the pairing would seem the ghostly trio are determined to bring the two together, even if it means setting to Gideon's laptop, car and clothing to tear him away from his work.
This story is a very nice introduction to not only the Boar's Head Trio but also to the McKinnon siblings, the rest of whom now have their own novels as well.
