Micah Callahan
Micah arrived in town in Narcissus in Chains but quickly became a big part of Anita's life.
He was invited to town by Elizabeth, the rebellious were-leopard who resented Anita being in control of the pard. Even though Anita was interviewing for an true Nimir-Raj for the pard Elizabeth had no right to approach anyone and Micah was unaware of the existence of Anita until after his arrival.
Deeply apologetic to her, he and his small pard use their strength to heal Anita before she is even conscious. Anita first meets him when she wakes from unconsciousness to find him in bed beside her.
Micah's pard is the Maneater Clan. Anita's is the Blooddrinkers Clan.
Micah has the power to call the flesh to heal.
He has permanent leopard eyes as he has spent too much time in his animal form without changing back.
His beast is attracted to Anita's and vice versa.
Micah claims that he is looking for somewhere safe to keep his pard. However the danger to his pard is in the city in the form of Chimera who wanted Micah to take over Anita's pard and turn them over to him. Micah tried to get him to back off once they knew about Anita but Chimera refused.
Once Chimera is out of the way Micah sticks around in town and becomes Nimir-Raj to Anita's Nimir-Ra. Anita uses him to feed the ardeur and he moves into her house.
Micah is very accommodating of Anita and has no problems with her dating, or sleeping with, anyone else as well as him. Being of a paranoid nature she is "waiting for the other shoe to drop".
Only time will tell if Micah will become more of a liability than an ally.
Text in this colour denotes that it is a spoiler for Incubus Dreams
We find out quite a bit more about Micah in Incubus Dreams including that he works for the Coalition for Better Understanding Between Lycanthrope and Human Communities. A low paying job but obviously something that he would feel strongly about.
Anita is still not convinced that Micah is not going to turn out to be someone who lets her down like every other man. Their beasts recognise each other but she is wise enough to know that she doesn't know that much about him.
Anita notices that Micah is starting to heal physically from the injuries inflicted by Chimera when he had had injuries so bad and so frequently that even his healing abilities had not been able to fix them. But now that he has had time away from him (since he is dead) his injuries, most obviously the broken nose, are starting to mend.
We also learn more about what Micah had to go through with Chimera and why it is that he wears his hair long. Not out of fashion but out of a way of being punished by Chimera for not doing his bidding.
Micah certainly went up in my estimation in Incubus Dreams although I still do wonder if he is perhaps too good to true.
