Magical Moments by Donna Fletcher is part of the Magical Love series and continues the story of the modern day witches that began in Wedding Spell.

Dagon Rasmus, Alisande's childhood friend has returned to his Scottish castle to find it in chaos.  His staff have always been the best of his kind, all witches and all powerful in their own right.  Until now....

Sarina is not only a witch with practically no powers at all, she is also clumsy and her accidents around his home are unable to be fixed by the other witches in his employment - even he himself is powerless to rectify her miscast spells.

The only power that Sarina still possesses is that of the sight, and even that is limited to others - she cannot see her own future.

After seeing his oldest friend happily settled Dagon is determined that he will now follow suit.  He has even chosen his future mate, the elusive and powerful witch known only as the Ancient One.  By pestering Aunt Sydney he eventually secures and invitation to meet with her and with the arrogance typical of male witches he is sure that he can seduce her into agreeing to his plan.  He cannot afford to allow anything to go wrong with his plan, and that means that he must solve the problem of Sarina before she destroys his entire castle and with it his plans.

Dagon is at a loss for how to solve his problem.  The witches who sent her to his castle have gone on a sudden and extended vacation and he has no way of discovering just why they have lied about her to gain her a position with him.  In the meantime he is left to rescue her from chandeliers, chimneys and her own foolish actions.

Keeping a close eye on Sarina is hard work and Dagon soon finds that it is taking up all his time, and furthermore that he likes spending his time with the mysterious Sarina.  He is sure that there must be a reason for her lack of powers, for even a new witch has more control over the spells than she appears to have.  He soon deduces that she must have had a spell cast on her by another witch - a witch more powerful than any he has encountered before.

Dagon has no problem with rescuing Sarina from her everyday mishaps but even he is unsure whether he can rescue her when it matters the most.  And if he cannot save her he knows that he will lose her and the love they have found together forever.

Magical Moments is a story that will delight readers with its unpredictability.  I thought I had figured out Sarina's secret right from the start and I have to say that I was completely wrong and the ending took me completely by surprise.  Just when you think you know what is going to happen Donna Fletcher takes the story in an entirely different direction and keeps you guessing right to the end.

But for those who are enjoying this series, it is not entirely the end as the plot thickens and leaves the way open for another instalment to this wonderful series.
