In a weak moment Roarke made a proposal to Eve and now she is looking for a wedding dress. Something she don't like to do: shopping. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to let Mavis, her new friend, design her wedding dress because in her studio you can only find things which Eve never would wear. But when she shows her the ideas about the dress she is impressed.
A short time later all looks different. Mavis calls Eve from Leonardo's studio and tells her that there is a dead body. Pandora was the model who should show Leonardo's new collection and now she is dead.
And who is on the crime scene with blood from the model on her clothes?
Mavis, Eve's best friend.
So Eve can't do anything else than take her to Cop Central to find out the truth.
Eve and Roarke are sure that Mavis can't be the killer. She and Pandora had argued about Leonardo because both were his lovers. But Mavis never would kill somebody because of that. How could Eve prove it?
Then Eve finds out that there is a new drug on the market called "Immortality". It makes you look younger and gives your more energy but there is a poison in it and after 5 years of taking this you have to die. Pandora and Jerry, another model were addicted to this. They started to take it and never could stop.
There is another young and goodlooking cop who works with Eve together in this case. Casto comes from another police department. They have three suspects but neither of them wants to make a confession for the murder. Not the best chances to let Mavis be a free person again. Who wanted to make a big profit with this new drug?
Not only this case, but also the preparations for the wedding and the memories about her brutal childhood keep Eve busy. Will she find the true killer in time?
