A Glimpse of Forever

A Glimpse of Forever by Linda O Johnston A Glimpse of Forever by Linda O Johnston is part of the Timeswept series and a worthy addition to any time travel fanatic's bookshelf.

Abby Wynne is a healer and seer on a journey by wagon train on the Spanish Trail.

Mike Danziger is a widower who has escaped from L.A. to the desert after the death of his wife.

Gazing  up at the stars they both witness the constellations move as they see through the eyes of each other...a century apart.

Abby, her father, and her sister Lucy are trapped on the trail, lost, and running out of water with each day of their journey.  So when Abby finds herself at the scene of ancient magic she prays to find water, and finds herself transported to a plentiful supply.  In the house of Mike Danziger in the world of conveniences - the 20th century.

Mike Danziger is a man ridden with guilt over the death of his wife.  But he is unable to turn away Abby when he finds her alone in the desert in the strange clothes from another time.  Thinking her a tourist on a reconstructed wagon train he takes her to his house so that he can help her find her family.  Little does he know that the place to look for them is in the history books.

Abby is drawn to Mike by his resemblance to her sisters betrothed Arlen Danziger and she soon figures out that Mike is a descendant of the man she hoped her sister would marry.

But Abby's search for what happened to the wagon train takes a distressing turn when she discovers that she had returned to the past and saved the life of Arlen.

Desperate to stay in the future Abby knows that she must return.  For if she does not go back Arlen will die, and Mike, her reason for remaining in the future will no longer exist.

Knowing that if she returns to the past she will remain there for some considerable time, if not forever, Abby has to face the prospect of losing the man she has grown to love in order to save his life.

A fantastic read with an ending that was so obvious I managed to miss it in my guessing the outcome.  Well worth a look.
