Glass-Slipper-dot.com by Rebecca Anderson is as unique as its unusual
title. In the age of modern technology and the advent of the Internet
good witches like Mirabelle Saintly and Wishmaker’s International have
a new way of getting their message out to the world.
Mirabelle’s latest task is to grant the wish of true love made by Eileen Pringle.
Furthermore the wish must be granted by midnight on New Year’s Eve or all good witches will disappear with the cosmic power shift of the “real” new millennium.
Eileen Pringle is a computer nerd who is sure that Brock Van Buren is the man of her dreams. He is also her boss and does not exactly fit the description of Prince Charming. Still Eileen is no Cinderella either, clumsy and constantly compared to her beautiful step-sister, she and Brock make a very unlikely pair.
Still Mirabelle is determined to make Eileen’s wish come true even if true love needs to be steered in a new direction. In this case it is the direction of undercover FBI agent Daniel Collins.
Daniel Collins is undercover at Brock’s company where he is trying to find the identity of the person inside the company who is hacking into government files. Eileen is his prime suspect but even that does not stop him falling for her.
Once Eileen has been cleared as the hacker Daniel wastes no time in enlisting her help to find the person responsible. But now that Brock is the prime suspect how helpful will Eileen be at apprehending the man who she claims to love.
Sure that Brock is not the hacker, Eileen agrees to help Daniel only in order to clear Brock’s name.
Mirabelle has her work cut out for her in granting Eileen’s wish. But there are no white mice and pumpkins in site as she teaches Eileen that true magic is not conjured with a wand and that the lessons in life that are taught by Wishmaker’s International are really just everyday things that could be learnt by anyone.
Under Mirabelle’s tutoring Eileen realises that her feelings for Daniel cannot be denied, but can she give up on Brock.
Daniel on the other hand is sure that Eileen is the woman for him. If only he could convince her of that fact all would be well. Using every skill he has he works his own type of magic on her to ensure that she will stay with him forever. But if Brock turns out not to be the hacker how can he possibly compete with the man whom Eileen has loved from afar for so long?
Eileen does not know that if she chooses the wrong man she will be destroying Wishmaker’s International forever.
Time is running out and Eileen must find her true love before midnight on New Year’s Eve or Cinderella will never have her Prince Charming.
Another unique and wonderfully entertaining novel from Imajinn Books.
Rebecca Anderson delivers a classic story of searching for true love and
wishes and gives it a modern twist. Fantastic!
