Bedazzled by Christine Holden is part of the Magical Love Series.
This is the story of Ashley Douglas who spends more than she can afford and Jordan Bennett who can afford to spend money but is afraid to loosen the purse strings.
Ashley had been raised in a wealthy household. Her family had been dangerously close to losing every penny they had and this caused them to learn the value of money.
Ashley unfortunately never quite learned that lesson and so her family put her on a tight budget for her own good. Living in her own apartment had taught her some hard lessons about the value of money but every now and again she slips back into her old ways.
With a job as manager of a hotel Ashley has a great deal of responsibility and the respect of her peers. Her family however still see her as a child and are unable to see the success she is making of her career.
Jordan Bennett is a successful chef who has worked his way up from nothing to become a wealthy man. But his fear of having nothing again causes him to save his money rather than spend it.
Ashley had loved Jordan as a child and had always been hurt that he had never returned her love. Now he is back in town and their paths are about to cross again as her brother’s friend comes to work in the hotel.
Unfortunately their paths cross first of all when Ashley has once again lapsed in her judgement and bought an antique silver bowl with money she can’t afford to spare.
Caught by her brother Zach and newly returned Jordan, Ashley is unable to hide her purchase. Ashamed but determined to clean up the purchase and make it worth the money she soon realises that the bowl could be the answer to all her problems as it appears to have magical properties.
Having placed some shampoo in the bowl she finds that it works such wonders with her hair that people believe she is wearing a wig. Not only that, when people touch her hair she finds that their attitudes towards her change. Her parents after touching her hair no longer condemn her for spending money, instead they praise how well she is doing and offer her a large cheque as a well done bonus.
Resolving to put the money towards the bills that were unpaid after her purchase of the bowl she quickly changes her mind and decides to spend the money in the stores. But she is in for a nasty shock for when she places the cheque into the bowl for safe-keeping she returns to find that it is now blank.
Angry with the bowl at first Ashley eventually realises that perhaps it is helping her after all as she mends her spendthrift ways. It can even do the cooking for her…
Jordan meanwhile is finding himself more and more attracted to his old friend’s sister but he knows that Zach hates the idea of a relationship between them.
Zach and Jordans’ friendship is stretched to the limit in this novel as Zach tries to keep his friend and sister apart. While he does not like Ashley’s irresponsible way with money, he hates Jordan’s hoarding ways even less.
But true love with find a way and with a magical bowl named Elvis guiding the two lovers to mend their ways it can only be a matter of time before each of them is free of their money worries and they can start a life together.
An amusing and original romance novel that proves that two people at
the opposite ends of the spectrum really can make a life together if they
are both willing to meet half way. Ms Holden has delivered another
highly recommended paranormal romance with that touch of the unusual that
many authors fail to include.
